How to Disable WMC without Uninstalling

Very close to changing from WMC to JRiver MC. I've got JRiver server running on the same machine as my WMC "server". Until now I have been letting WMC continue recording all the (300+) series, and just using JRiver for small scale testing the tuners, guide, playback, and client. My next step is to let JRiver take over recording all my series but I do not want to delete all the (300+) series out of WMC or uninstall WMC (because I think doing that will delete them too). Also, just deleting all the series in WMC is not a solution because some remote control buttons still try to call up WMC- like green button, guide, and recorded tv.

Is there a way to basically put WMC on HOLD / disable ALL it's functions without uninstalling :?:

If JRiver can pass guide/recording/client tasks for a few weeks, I will upgrade the server to Windows 10 and go JRiver full time

Disable the WMC Receiver service and WMC Scheduler service.

Well that worked as far as stopping WMC from kicking off scheduled recordings, but does not prevent the WMC remote control buttons (green button, guide, recorded tv) from launching WMC. Pressing any of those buttons launches WMC.

Other suggestions?

Control Panel-Programs and Features-Turn Windows Features On or Off. Uncheck Windows Media Center. You can always re-enable it later if you change your mind.

Of course, I know that... But what happens to my 300+ series when I turn it off then turn it back on?

Nothing, back them up if you are concerned. Sorry for trying to help.
