Yep. There were several posts that insisted that DNS wasn't the issue. As it turns out it was. In the end I recovered WMC flushed the DNS and changed the HOST file. Waste of time if you ask me. :)

32765 and 32789 both work.
Hosts, flush, and TV setup were the last steps that I did, that made it work. In my case, it might not have been necessary to remove the tuners and reset WMC. The whole affair was a "Good Workout". I hadn't rebuilt since 2012.

84088 OTA is working for West Jordan, UT (Salt Lake Valley). I imagine most of the other Salt Lake valley zips are also working but didn't try them.

Tried everything posted, but could not get it to work until I rebuilt my media center from scratch and then set dns entries in host file (as described in the posts) before running media center for the first time. BTW: Never got KB3078428 for the EPG update to show up, so don't know if this would have resolved not needing the DNS changes or not.

I seem to be having the same issue as @Jimmersd.

One PC made the transition to Rovi just fine and never missed a beat - channel info's correct, guide data's correct, recordings are all correct.
But the second PC is still trying to get guide info from Zap2it, and as a result, shows "No data available" in the guide, and is missing all of the scheduled recordings.

Hoping to have a chance to sit down and fix it in the next few days; I will try the workaround mentioned by @Crash2009 above, thank you for the info.
Glad I found this thread.

After installing TV Pack onto my Vista Ultimate x64 system, I can report that 28785 (Waynesville, NC) works. I would assume 28786, the main ZIP for Waynesville, would work.

However, the cable company I use has channels that aren't officially carried, mainly secondary channels available OTA, so I had to do some tinkering with the guide with Guide Tool to get them listed, but I have listings!

19112 in Philadelphia, PA works. All I had to do to fix my system was to re-scan for channels supplying this zip code. I live about 35 miles away from Philadelphia, my zip did not work.

An observation: Getting data... after entering the zip code goes fast if there is data, otherwise it sits there for about 2 minutes then times out. When will software developers wake up and pop a message box saying that the fool thing timed out instead of simply going on their merry way with no data just because the program executed successfully??? Would save a lot of people a lot of grief.

43081 --- WOW Cable (Digital) is now working on both PCs.

@Crash2009's fix worked --- edit host files, ipconfig, dnsflush, then resetup WMC --- resolved the problem and now I have guide data on both machines.

Your welcome, but I didn't figure it out. I just overheard Mystic telling Osburn. Tried it, worked for me too.

I'm new to forum and media center. I hope this is a help to someone with similar problem
I kept getting "Downloadable tv programs not available due to previous downloading failures".
I discovered Media Center was not on the allowable list in windows firewall. I added it to the list
and was able to download the guide.

I initially did not like the new lineup, as many channels were missing. I live in the Youngstown market, but can pickup other markets with my rooftop antenna. I record both Cleveland and Youngstown channels frequently. I opened a ticket with Rovi directly about this. Below is the response that I received. Sure enough, the new lineup is there, and it includes Cleveland, Youngstown, Erie, Pittsburgh, and Wheeling. Great support from Rovi! My WMC lives on! If you live between multiple markets, try contacting Rovi directly, to see if they will create a new lineup for your area also. Anyone in Western PA that can pickup Youngstown OTA, may want to try zip 44430 and choose Cleveland/Surround for their lineup.

A new broadcast lineup for your area has been created that contains channels from a broader reach. In the next 24-48 hours you will find an option with your zip code called Cleveland/Surround. You may need to rerun setup for WMC to select this option.

If you continue to have issues please open a ticket with Microsoft in the Connect application (https://connect.microsoft.com/site1145/Feedback). Microsoft will work directly with Rovi on any further issues you might be having.

Thanks for the zip code trick. Mine didn't work (27617) but I tried a few others. 27609 did.

Does anyone know of a working zip code in Iowa for Mediacom Cable?

I have done every possible suggestion so far but still only shows no data available. The log files shows it keeps trying to download the guide but nothing ever downloads.

The problem does not appear to me to be related to the change to Rovi or zip codes working or not. It is something in the latest executable setup file being downloaded from MS during the initial setup of the 8.1 feature content. I tried changing zip codes changes mentioned in these blogs to no avail. I also tried adding adding lines to the host file to no avail.

After I reran the setup following these steps below all zip codes work and did not have to add any new ip addresses to the file in the host file directory.

Initial setup of Media center finds all tuners and 105 stations but no EPG.

1. Exited Media center
2. Go to task manager and kill all media center process
3. Started the object store recovery in task scheduler for media center
4. Delete all files in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\ehome folder
5. Restart media center
a. Note I did not wait the twenty minute as recommended in other post; only long enough to start the task recovery and delete all files in ehome
b. I did not receive the message that media center experienced an error;
c. I tried this earlier waiting the twenty minute; received the media center error message but the setup[ still crapped out at the downloading local program data stage
6. Start setup at live tv
7. Local data setup found and epg established with all tuners and 105 stations

61080 works. Was not working yesterday, but I put in a Connect ticket yesterday and changed out my router today. One of those two things made a difference, but either way the zip code works. This is South Beloit, IL - Charter Cable Winnebago County Digital.

61072 works (rockton IL). Just had to switch my parents to this two days ago because 61080 wasn't working.

Interesting. I must have finished my build at exactly the wrong time.

61080 is working now though. I don't know maybe the Connect ticket helped. I figured it was something with my router since it worked after changing to another.

I will keep 61072 in mind for the future. The odds of someone actually being in this area are so slim, glad there might be someone else with feedback in this area!

Of course, I hope everything will just work and not need any feedback also. Thanks!
