nMediaPC LCD screen suffers a meltdown

Hi Everyone,

One of my HTPCs was running a Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L with a Core 2 Duo E7400 processor and an Antec BP550 Plus power supply. The system also had an nMediaPC PRO-LCD screen.

The system has been running fine since I built it four years ago. However, last week, the system became unresponsive. I tried all troubleshooting steps, but I could not get the motherboard to POST.

I replaced the motherboard with an Gigabyte H61M-DS2 motherboard with a Core i3-2100 processor. As soon as I turned the system on, the new motherboard booted fine, but smoke started to come out of the case. I noticed that the black wire of the LCD screen melted, as well as the ground connector on the motherboard. I removed the screen and changed the power supply and the system has been working fine since then. I also tested the first power supply and the test passed. I attached a few pictures. Can anyone provide some insight as to what may have happened?
