Pre-Recording Buffer
WMC lets you set just a 15 minute buffer, starting recordings 15 mins before the guide has a program scheduled. During sports season, with runovers, overtime, etc, some programs start earlier or later. Is there any know method to set the pre-recording start to more than 15 minutes, to whatever you wish to set the buffer to? Can I edit the registry, if so, where?
Thanks,
JIM

I found it is just easier (I'm not a programmer and I'm not comfortable messing with the registry) to set to record programs after the program of interest. Wife complained that whatever was before survivor was running late, and then WMC cut off the end of survivor, so I just set WMC to record whatever is after survivor.

You can do a manual record that tells WMC to record a specific channel for a certain time period.

My guess is that most young people these days have never seen a VCR, or if they have seen one, they have never set recordings on it.adam1991 wrote:aka, VCR.
Figure, DVD players were first sold in 1997-1998, so anyone who was at least 10 years old by then, never really had to set a VCR to record.

I was 11 in 97 I used a vcr to record plenty of things. DVD recorders and recordable dvd's were still way too expensive then.

No, I don't need a vcr or dvr, been there and done that. I know a manual recording setup would do but would not retain in the name recorded, the title and show, and would just keep on recording that time slot regardless. I've adjusted the registry a bit but am not certain about where the start buffer would be. Just need to find that or be complacent with status quo.
