What is the Philips header for on a Soundgraph VFD/IR board?

What is the Philips header for on a Soundgraph VFD/IR board?

Hi

I am stuck can anyone help?

What is this Philips 3 pin header for?

Image

I presumed you can disable the iMON IR by moving the switch from SoundGraph to Philips.

But not sure what the Philips header is meant to be for?

I am looking to disable the iMON IR and use a standard RC6 internal IR receiver somehow.

I could use a regular internal USB or CIR type IR receiver board, but not sure if I have anywhere inside on the front of the OrigenAE M10 HTPC case to mount one internally.

Thanks
Stuart

I'm pretty sure a friend of mine has that VFD.

He connected a different IR receiver to it somehow. It's a native RC6 one I think.

I'll see if I can get hold of him.

I think he bought a board direct from Originae - it wasn't a straight forward job from what I remember (a few years ago).

Maybe its for connection to one of these IR310 IR boards ?

Although the wiring diagram doesn't look like so

Those iMON IR boards were ropey in Windows MCE, in Linux they are a complete nightmare!

I really need to disable it and switch to a proper RC6 one but wasn't keen on just using an external USB receiver etc.

Hi

I just had a look, there is not a lot of room inside this Origenae M10 case.

You can see the iMON IR connected to the VF310 board. And also in the picture is a VideoMate USB Internal IR receiver which is a spare one I have laying around. Might be possible to put it in but I think I would need to re-solder the IR eye on to some longer metal pins and bend them in to position behind the plastic window.

Also I may lose the power on from Shutdown S5 with the USB VideoMate, unless one of the USB ports on the Intel DH67CF ITX board still has power when its shutdown ?
I never managed to get power on from Shutdown working before with this VideoMate internal IR when I was using it previously which is why I took it out of another HTPC and replaced it with an Inteset CIR board.

Thanks
Stuart
