Can I add another category of Movies to the home screen ? I would like to create a separate category for certain movies and keep them separated.

You can do it with My movies. I have all my movies separated by different categories. You can also create custom menu buttons.

I do this with Media Browser 2.6

Every "collection" you add to Media Browser creates what WMC defines as an entry point. They can be manipulated either in the registry or through a program like Media Center Studio.

I created numerous collections - one called "movie library," "concerts," "nintendo," "sega genesis," etc

I found a good icon online for the concerts library and stuck it on the music strip:

a strip for all my emulators:

and I replaced my default movie library entry point with one that leads directly into Media Browser's movie collection

Good to see you over here Pittsoccer33. Loved your screen shots in the AVS thread......really impressive. Was there a guide you followed for using Media Center Studio? I would like to do something similar (but much simpler) to what you did. I'd like to create a strip called Streaming, and move Netflix, Youtube, and Amazon Instant to that strip.

Media Center Studio isn't the most intuitive program on earth, but it works pretty well and is easy once you figure out how to use it.

Basically you will have three steps

-install your plugins and/or create MCL files and put them in the correct folder so that WMC recognizes them
-open MCS, navigate to the "Start Menu" tab, and then create a new menu strip
-rearrange your "entry points" onto the strip, save it, and launch WMC

Assassin has a good write up here http://assassinhtpcblog.com/wmcappearance/#refguide16

A long time ago I heard that WMC updates from Microsoft would break changes you made with MCS. I downloaded some small hotfix that runs everytime I reboot my pc (which isn't often). I've never had a problem with something breaking since downloading that http://www.hack7mc.com/downloads?did=97

I can help with any other questions you have and post screen shots when I'm home if you like.

Thanks for the reply. I think I have it mostly figured out after reading Assassin's guide, and this one:

I totally missed the "entry points" button at the lower left. I think my only question is finding Netflix in MCS. Is it Promo(Movies1)?

You ever messed with Media Center Themer? Seems a little bit safer, but harder to modify tiles and strips though.

Promo #1 I think is what Netflix is called. Whatever is directly to the left of "movie library"

I have not yet touched Media Center Themer. It is more actively in development, and it seems to be more powerful too. I'm just sticking to what I know (for now. until I get bored.)
