Random Tuner Loss?
Last night for the first time ever I had my WMC PC tell me that it lost 3 of the 4 tuners. I have never experienced this before on Win 7 or 8. I have been upgraded to 8.1 for a few weeks now with no issues. I restarted with no luck and then I re-ran TV setup and everything is back to normal. Wondering if anyone else has seen this?

I'm running Win7 media center. Last night I ran into the same problem for the first time. 3 recordings and could not use 4th tuner. After restart I could use all 4 again. I recently set up a new pc, so new Mobo and all the latest firmware.

I also had to re-run the TV setup for all PCs that I upgraded to 8.1. I have 4 tuners and it seemed like the first 2 worked ok but to use the second 2 I had to rerun setup.

Make sure that fast boot is turned off for windows 8.
Windows 8.1 update reenables fast boot.
Fast boot creates a partial hybernation file which is reloaded at boot.
That can cause tuners to lock up.
I don't know if it affects standby as I us an antec veris elite remote to start
my computer from a full shut down.
