Netflix error on add to instant queue

#1

Post by tcc » Tue Sep 13, 2011 10:38 pm

Hi,

Anyone getting the following WMC error dialog trying to add to instant queue using Netflix?

INTERNET CONNECTION
There was a problem retrieving data. Verify your internet
connection is working properly and try again.

A firewall trace shows 3 retries of an http post where the netflix server returns http error 500 each time. The url in the post looks like a Netflix authentication token of some kind.

Otherwise the plugin works ok.

I can confirm this is happening to me as well. The Netflix plugin seems to have been a little persnickety in general as of late...

I called Netflix support at 866-636-3076 and the tech said they do not support the WMC Netflix Plug-in and that I would have to call Microsoft...

Deja Vu...this is when several of you will uninstall and reinstall Netflix, or maybe Silverlight, perhaps even Windows. Wait it out and everything will be fine. This typically happens over a weekend so be patient.

I remember the last time Netflix broke, it just took time for it to be fixed. I worry that it will be permanently broken eventually though...
