Should I turn off tuner when I turn off TV?

I normally just leave my htpc while tv still live when I turn off my tv - does it matter? Thinking of the fact that it's always taking up bandwidth

Pressing stop first would be a good habit as live TV is constantly writing to your hard drive.

Yes.

It's not taking up bandwidth, really, unless you count the live buffer. But I do like not having the tuner considered busy when the recorder wants to ask for a tuner.
