Preferred cableCARD for Infini4TV pciE

#1

Post by Crash2009 » Sat Feb 09, 2013 8:39 pm

My cableCARD died this morning. Removing it and re-seating had got it going again in the past but not this time. Went down to the Comcast service center today and got another, as well as a spare (just for today). I noticed that these 2 cableCARDs look different and was wondering if the Ceton Infini4 has a preference between one or the other. The one on the left has a small gold strip near the top, and when you insert it into the Infini, it doesn't "feel" the same way when you plug it in, compared to the other cableCARD (the one on the right). The cableCARD on the right "feels like" it fits better in the Infini.

Also, these cableCARDS have slightly different part numbers. I suspect they were manufactured in different years, and again, I was wondering if it makes a difference to the Infini.

The card on the left Part Number = 514517-012-00
The card on the right Part Number = 514517-009-00

It should make not difference as long as they are both "M" or Multi-Stream Cards which they are. The more important thing if the FW on the card and if it's wrong, it should update automatically as soon as it is on the system (i.e. inserted into the InfiniTV which is on and connected to the cable system). The cableCARD FW shows up in the cableCARD menu which is access from the cableCARD tab in the webgui and is actually a web server page inside the cableCARD.

Note to self: Next time your cableCARD blows up, and you have to install a new one, insist upon an english speaking Comcast rep (to un-pair and re-pair), and don't forget to run tuner setup!

Jan 1 16:13:48 ocur[21]: ocur: cas_card_watchdog:505 WARNING: Resetting watchdog count to 0 since query succeeded

Can anybody tell me how to change the date and time in the Ceton InfiniTV log?

One more note. When you fire up My Media Center after the cableCARD install you will likely find no guide listings on the IPhone. Go into settings and tap Clear Cache. Reboot twice!
