Yes, OTA tuners are supported in Windows 8. According to Microsoft, any tuner that works with Windows 7 should also work with Windows 8. However, I don't really trust that statement. YMMV.

I think some of the confusion stems from the fact that Microsoft will no longer test TV tuners for compatibility. That doesn't mean that tuners won't work with Win8, just that MS won't certify them.

I think this question depends on the specific tuner hardware.
My BlackGold DVB-T2 tuner does not work in Windows 8. For auto-setup I find no tuners, and for manual DVB-T setup the resulting scan finds no channels.
As the same hardware works correctly on Windows 7, I assume there are changes to the driver model at Windows 8, and I need new drivers. However there are other issues with Windows 8 that for me, make this problem academic.
Edited to make it clear I was trying to use Windows 8 x64.
I don't know if my tuner works wth Windows 8 x86 yet.

Both my OTA tuners work
One worked immediately after upgrading (a Hauppauge 1196 WinTV-HVR-1250)
The other one require me to reinstall the drivers that came with it (can't remember the name of it but it said it was Windows 7 compatible and it uses the Conexant chip)
