Since I switched to WMC a couple years ago from Tivo, the thing that has most annoyed is not one I would have predicted. I read that the guide data comes from the same source and should be the same, however, in Tivo most shows used to give an episode number. This is never present in the WMC guide data as far as I can see. This seeming minor thing an enormous hassle! Might something be misconfigured? Is there some way to get this information with an add-in?

Try RecordedTV HD. It's a beautiful app, and it will give you the episode numbers you are looking for. I loved it, but it made my system unstable so I had to uninstall it. You may not have an issue... many people are using it without a problem.

Note that RecordedTVHD only gives you episode numbers for whatever you have recorded. It does not give you episode numbers for the data in the guide.
