Some Files Won't Delete

#1

Post by Sai Das » Sat Mar 31, 2012 6:30 pm

For some unknown reason, a couple of shows I recorded didn't complete recording and I can't delete them. The error message says, "The action can't be completed because the file is open in WMC Receiver Service. I went into where the file is stored to dry to delete it from there but same message. Any ideas as to what is going on and how to delete?

Have you tried a quick reboot?
Are the files visible in your recorded TV folder via explorer?

I have done a full pc restart since then without change. I don't use Explorer for anything. The two files show in both WMC Recorded TV and on the HD where this content is.

Have you tried to open Services (type services.msc into Start> Search) and Locate Windows Media Center Receiver Service. Stop the service, (right click it select stop). Delete the two files then restart the service?(right click it again, select start.) Close services window.

I'm a wmc/pc junkie... It's in my blood, I can't help it. I am known as the family "tech geek" .. And I'm ok with that. LOL
