Sound when watching TV, there is no sound. Volume is all the way up
I am connected by HDMI to an HDTV
All windows 11 sound tests work. I downloads a Microsoft store game an it plays sound.
sound is set to s/pdif and there is no other selection possible in windows.
I reinstalled Nvidia driver
Setting up speakers in WMC no sound is heard for any of stereo, 5.1 or 7.1 selections
I have no audio sound playback, I do hear menu sounds SOLVED

I discovered WMC plays audio fine from files on my harddrive. Could this be a codec issue?

I solved the problem. I was using an old GTX260 nvidia card.
I swapped in a GT730 nvidia card and it now plays sound fine
The GTX260 only passes sound by way of the spdif motherboard port it the connecting cable to the video card is hooked up and mine was.
