Custom logos problem
I thought that to create custom logos for a station all I had to do was bring up the logos panel in the configuration GUI and drag and drop a png into the custom square. This does not work for me. When the file is dragged over the any of the squares in the logo panel i get a circle with a slash thru it for a cursor. I can move items from one logo panel to another though. The only way I can get custom logos is to put an appropriately named file in the logos directory. What might be the problem?

I've seen some similar behavior, but I can't duplicate it intentionally. All I've had to do was close the logo form and open a new one and it would work. I checked my system and is working just fine. I'll scan through the code some and see if I can point to a possible cause.

Further details. It makes no difference to close/reopen the logo form. Running as admin makes no difference. My epg123 is old enough that everything is in the c:\epg123 directory tree. Could this be some kind of .NET problem?

Well, I found the problem that I was seeing. It would only occur if I deleted a logo, and then tried to drag/drop on the same picture box... nothing would happen. I wouldn't get the circle with slash. There is no reason codewise that trying to drop a file in the picturebox would prevent the copy symbol from showing.
I'll try to research some to find out ways that a filedrop will not be recognized and give the block symbol.

I found something here https://superuser.com/questions/59051/d ... inistrator that gave me some idea of what might ne going on. I noticed the desktop link has run as administrator on for the gui. So I tried the drag from elevated notepad workaround described at the link and it worked. (I was able to drag and drop into the logo pane). Not sure what is the proper fix without doing the hokey workaround though.

Why would the desktop link be to run as administrator? The only time the configuration gui needs to run elevated is when deleting or creating the scheduled task.

I don't know. I don't remember doing that, as far as I remember the link was created by the installer. But oddly just running the gui directly from the epg123 folder rather than using the linik does not seem to change anything. Note that the account that I installed epg123 with and run it from is an admistrator level user (the only user on the PC).

So if you right-click the properties of the executable, is it also set to run as administrator in the compatibility tab? That is not something the installer sets.stuartm wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 7:06 am I don't know. I don't remember doing that, as far as I remember the link was created by the installer. Well that was the problem. Unchecking the run as administrator fixes the problem. I sure don't remember setting that flag. But it is entirely possible that somewhere in the dim dark early days of EPG123 I thought it was needed and set it. Ceratinly did not do it any time recently. Always just run the installer these days when I put in a new version.
