EPG123 failure to login

#1

Post by YagilH » Fri Oct 01, 2021 5:39 pm

Hi,

I used to have WMC and EPG123 work fine on my laptop running Win 10.
Then I had to reset my PC.

Now I cannot login from the EPG123 Config, getting the message:

"Invalid username or token has expired. Response: INVALID_USER"

I have no problem logging into to the SchedulesDirect website.

Please help,
Yagil

I guess you didn't get my email response? Here is what I sent you:

Code: Select all

When that happens, the username and password in the configuration gui should become editable. You tried reentering your password again and still got the error?

Yes. I enter my username and password and get the error message.

What version of epg123 are you running? Are you sure you entered the password correctly?

Rather than go through all the possibilities on what could not be working by the program or the user, you can just rename your c:\programdata\garyan2\epg123\epg123.cfg file to epg123.old. Open the configuration GUI and it will be as if it is a new setup and you have to enter your username and password again. See if you can successfully login then.

The .cfg file will be wherever you installed epg123 then, if you didn't install it in the default Program Files folder.

I copied the file epg123.cfg from an old computer to the folder C:\ProgramData\GaRyan2\epg123
It didn't help.
I renamed the file to epg123.old
Now I get the error:
Failed token request. code: 0 , message: OK , datetime: 2021-10-02T19:51:25Z

Ah, I think I see. You are missing some registry entries that are needed to store your token. Since you reset your laptop, those registry entries are now missing as well as some other things.

Download and run the epg123 setup file again to create the registry entries, setup some firewall rules, and add the service to the service controller.

Are there instruction for setting up firewall rules and for adding the service to the service controller?

No, the installer will do that for you. You don't need to do anything other than run the downloaded file.

OK. I uninstalled v1.7.0.4 and installed v1.6.5.1
Now it seems to work fine.
Thanks
