This is a problem on your machine, most likely some AV software which is interrupting the connection.

I assume the issue is on SD's end. Should I report it to them??

Yes, it is data from SD. Time discontinuities typically go away on their next update from Gracenote (twice per day), but if it sticks around then a ticket with SD would be the way to go.

With the issues with SD having with Gracenote, I got to thinking. I'm doing an Save & Execute every now and again to see if the issue has been corrected. Feature Request for manual Save & Execute: if the import fails (and the EPG123 icon is NOT green), can we get a pop up after the import to alert us to the issue? This is just an idea.

You can disable the 'Notify on ERRORs' only option from the tray icon to have a notification popup after every update run. The tray program can't tell the difference between a scheduled task run and a save & execute run.
