How to download guide listings

#1

Post by elizlom » Thu Mar 19, 2020 10:10 pm

I thought this was automatic but I don't have any guide listings past an hour from now. How does it work and what do I need to do? Thank you, it's been working fine for a few weeks.

Did you follow the instructions to do a "Clean Start" when setting up EPG123 (making sure to answer NO to the EULA)?

If not, most likely you were never using the listings from EPG123 and were still using the Microsoft/Rovi data (which was supposed to end in January, but instead seems to be ending on 3/20, at least as of this post).

If you did setup EPG123, did you create a task to perform the download and import daily?

Answer no to the EULA? I probably answered yes. And no, I don't think I did create a task. So I should go back to EPG123 and try to fix that I guess.

I had checked the right things thinking that was enough, but this time I hit the create button also. I hope that was enough.

Open EPG123 and click the [Save & Execute] button. When it completes, do you have guide information?

When posting long log files, there are a few ways to do that. The preferred way is using the code block.

See this post for instructions. viewtopic.php?p=137783#p137783

I have 80 gigs available, so unless it installed somewhere odd I don't think that is it. I use C drive for the OS.

I'm sorry, not a programmer and can't find the square brackets, so I zipped it. I hope that worked. Just a lady that wants to watch her tv shows.

Okay, not sure why it was giving that error then.

Looking at your full trace.log file, there are a couple things to look at.

1. You are only downloading guide listings for 4 stations (WMPT, WHUT, HISTORY, and HSN). Is that what you want?
2. Those downloaded guide listings are not shown in the guide because the MS/Rovi listings are already assigned to them.

Basically, you didn't set EPG123 up correctly and deny the program guide terms of service during Step 2.

First lets fix your configuration, then we can tackle why the scheduled task thinks the hard drive is full. I would recommend performing a setup again starting at Step 1. http://epg123.garyan2.net/install/

Note that the "Not enough storage is available to process this command" can indicate a misconfiguration of the system based on my Googling. Not sure how it gets that way. One fix is to make a change in the registry, but if you are not good with computers, I'm not sure I would advise making changes to the registry.

But there may be other issues with your system that require a more complicated fix.

This link lists some options, but I would be wary of trying some of them (and some may not pertain to your system at all):

Thanks, I will tackle both these ideas later. Yes, I really only had four channels going right now, I figured I could add later if I wanted. My test run of the four didn't go so well, lol.
