Client Crashing

#1

Post by stuartm » Sun Feb 16, 2020 8:13 pm

I am having a problem with one of my 3 systems that runs EPG123. If I do a save and execute then it seems to successfully import the mxf file but then it pops up a client has stopped working window that has the following detail:

Description:
Stopped working

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: CLR20r3

Problem Signature 05: 1.1.19.7

Problem Signature 09: System.NullReferenceException
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

The pertinent part of the log shows this:

And I notice my programs are failing to schedule to record. The guide looks OK and seems up to date but I think the reindex and/or schedule recordings tasks are not being run.
I can run the PvrSchedule task by hand and then the recordings get scheduled.

Any ideas on what is wrong/how to correct the problem?
(On the other two systems with pretty much identical setup there are no problems when I Save and Execute)

Thanks.

Looks like it is crashing before it gets to the reindexing part. If you open the client, select your lineup on the right side, and click the Match by: [# Number] button, it should clear out those 'Skipped...' messages and may solve the problem. There is evidently a mergedchannel in there that EPG123 does not like.

Well I tried the match by number. (I have 2 lineups, one OTA and one cable) It seems to have changed the output some but still the Client gives the stopped working popup.
Things of note in the log file when I did the match by number:

If you don't want to upgrade to the latest version of EPG123, you can just download the portable version and open the client from any location. It may be able to repair the issue.

I'll try upgrading. I am in the if it ain't broke don't fix it camp. But it is obviously broke so time to upgrade. :D
Actually tried the running the newest client and that fixed it so that the older version would complete. Will upgrade as well in case this happens again I can fix things without having to jump through as many hoops. Thanks for the help Gary.
