One channel will not show

#1

Post by robertkjr3d » Thu Dec 19, 2019 12:48 pm

Maybe I need to talk to 'Old Krusty' Over at the WMC forum. But for some reason the Hallmark channel in HD 138,378,1458 will not work. After this switch to EPG.
In the past he would say to check the 'Edit Channel'-->'Sources'. But they look fine. What else would cause this problem? I have already checked most other HD Channels, and they seem to be fine. Nothing else that I can see looks out of the ordinary.

When I say 'will not work'... I mean I get "No TV Signal.."
I have a cable box in another room. The HallMark CH is still working. And before this switch the channel was working.

Edit: 241 Hallmark Movies doesn't work either. ?

Is the software, as part of your tuners, able to show the channels?

hmm software as part of my tuners?
I don't even know what that would be.
I have a Haupauge
https://hauppauge.com/pages/products/data_dcr2650.html

I guess they recommend 'NextPVR'. But I've never used it. Well I should say I tried it once. (maybe like 8 years ago) When I tried to switch to Win-10 on another machine. But this is Windows-7. NextPVR has never been installed.

Does Hauppauge not have any TV tuning and watching software that comes with it?

It may have come with this:

Never used it... I think I had it installed like 15 years ago, like 2 machines ago. I've had a cable card forever.

Edit: This tuner came out in 2011. But I had a previous model, before that. I think it also had Win-TV. So 15 years was an exaggeration.

I run Hauppauges and they come with WinTV8 (currently 8.5) https://hauppauge.com/pages/support/sup ... ntv85.html

What I don't like is:
Ok I pay the money to Haupauge for the WinTV activation. Because no way do I still have the CD laying around still... Maybe. (it might take me an hour to find if I do)
Then it just shows the same thing that WMC shows. "no signal for that channel".

But if I don't hear anything from Krusty on another forum. Or a better Idea, I'll try it.

Check this out: It's from a while ago. But it was not resolved. For him it was not a big deal. For us it is.

I wonder if one of these is somehow related. But why would this come up just after switching to EPG123

Here's something interesting:
This guide says the 4-digit channel is supposed to be 1307 not 1458.

Ok, got home.
1st tried (Got 'Weak TV Signal'.)

1)-- Checked cables. They seemed fine.
2) -- Powercycled the Hauppauge.

.... It worked. Seems fine now.

Hopefully it will remain working. Oddly it would affect a couple of channels. But it is working.
