Britain, regional channel versions: Manual transponder scans and manual channel matching to get the job done

Well I got around to getting various missing channels back after various transponder hops and a few that are now in the graveyard to disable. It took me six hours to complete a typical for me, highly OCD task.
I don't have a spare machine or drive to clone to test the automatch facility on and know from experience that system restore won't cure any messed up mess in WMC. So I did a clean start in epg123 and crashed on from there. My wife and my OCD orientated desire to get the correct regional variations of national network channels makes this job horrendous. In the UK and I hope someone from the UK sees this post, a WMC transponder scan returns about 8 "ITV". That's all, just ITV, one of them is ITV Granada, I have to wait for news or early evening programming to identify that channel and disable the others.
The rest of the time is taken up using a keyboard sat in front of a 60 inch screen reordering the channels. I like BBC, various national and regional, news, parliament, then first, second, third, etc commercial channels. Everything in an order that I can deal with on the remote and most importantly my boss the wife. This really does take an age to accomplish as there is no drag and drop.
My question, how do you people in the UK do this job, how long does it take you?
One other thing, why the hell is there epg data for "Movies4men+1" and not for "Movies4men"?
