This thread is for anyone using Comskip to share their ini file settings.

Here's mine.
I'm still using 1.4.6.0 from July 2011. I did tweak quite a few things, but will have to go through my notes to remember what and why.
Just to confirm I am using a Ceton InfiniTV. I would love to hear what you did, what worked etc.
Detection is good, but it still does get it a bit wrong on certain channels/shows. I'd say it's good 85% of the time.

Rough guess is better than 80%. I haven't done any real analysis, but it did do a better job out of the box than SA did with alot of tweaking. It also seems to not really need separate profiles for different channels (so far).

Interesting. I always find certain shows (Oprah used to be one), a segment would never be detected. Every show episode was the same. Playing around I spotted how they created the break and blended back in the show from the commercials, it was different to the rest. There was no 'fade to black then back'.

CBS is notorious for that here. They slam straight in and out of commercials without a single black frame. Not much you can do about it but keep the remote handy and manually skip those.

Huh. What I've noticed about CBS lately is the hugely elongated black stretches between content and commercial.

It's almost as if they're deliberately trying to fool any decent tweaks we may have....at the expense of commercial time. In a one hour show, those long stretches of black could add up to another 15 seconds of ads.

Between the 4-5 second black stretch and the 150 second or longer snake oil ad in the middle of the break, commercial avoidance tools tend to just throw up their hands and leave it all alone.

It does seem that CBS does change the transitions quite a bit. At first I thought they were actively trying to foil the commercial scanning apps, but would they really expend any effort to go after the few thousand of us actively skipping commercials when there are millions of other viewers who have no choice but to watch them? Doesn't seem very likely to me, but I guess stranger things have happened.

I just checked and there is a new release today. I haven't been running Comskip long enough to post an accuracy percentage but so far it seems pretty good.

I'm potentially interested in commerical skipping but success rate must be much higher (at least 95%+) otherwise i'm sticking with the tried and tested 7 + ffwd. Show Analyser is less use than a chocolate teapot and seems to be getting zero support these days....

So far it's been pretty solid. Detection accuracy for all my racing on Speed is about as good as it gets. We'll see how well it does with CSI when the new season starts.

Yeah I was thinking about that as well. This thread is probably just good for general browsing. there are many variables, including specific problematic material, the hopeful 'fix' and the bugs that may introduce in other material...etc etc etc.

I will see if phpbb has any tricks we can add to do funky stuff with data.
