Hi,
I've been running with WMC7 very happily on my HTPC for about 5 years with the Mediabrowser plugin.
However, my HTPC has died and rather than try and rebuild it (especially given that MS have kindly retired WMC) I am thinking of using something else. My video formats are VOBs and WTVs.
Rather than a dedicated PC, I'd rather go with one of these media boxes you just plug straight in to your TV/Amp. I've got a FireTV Stick but that seems pretty limited - no XBMC and just VLC.
I've tried one of the Sumvision cyclone devices but didn't get on with the UI.
Has anyone found something as good (or nearly) as WMC that supports VOBs and WTV please?
Thanks
WMC7 HTPC Dead - where next?

Your Fire TV Stick definitely supports Kodi (XBMC), you just need to sideload it. Were you using your HTPC as a dvr as well?

Great thanks will give that a go....was also considering using my RPi with Raspbmc/OSMC although not sure how well it copes with VOBs.

I think a Rpi would work better, as it has hardware decoding support for Mpeg2 (which your VOBs are) as long as you buy the $3 mpeg license.
