Adding new Astra 2F channels

#1

Post by dean_wales » Wed Feb 11, 2015 8:51 pm

Hi Guys,

I am running W8 media centre and my tuner is a TBS 6981 DVB-S2 tuner card.

All my channel work fine, including the BBC HD channels on Astra 2E. I did have to do a specific transponder scan to get them however.

The problem is that I cant seem to work out how to add the newest HD channels that are on Astra 2F. It isn't the satellite listed as being in use by media center.

I know I need to scan the following:

Astra 2F (28.2° East)
Frequency: 11 .02325 GHz
Horizontal polarisation
Symbol rate: 23.0 Mbaud

But I get no signal on that transponder, presumably because I am not using Astra 2F?

Please help!

Dean.

did you round the frequency up to 11024? baud rate 23000 too, if you're inputting them as you've typed it won't work.

I just double checked 11024 and 11023 show nothing. No signal.

Oddly though I managed to get ITV HD set up on 11097 V which is apparently on Astra 2F. So it doesn't seem like a problem specific to 2F just that BBC transponder.

Are any of you guys getting those channels I.e. BBC News HD? If so, how?!?

Dean.

Also can't get Channel 4 HD on 11126 V from Astra 2F.

Frustrating!

No green bars on that transponder.

I don't think it can be alignment if everything else plays OK??

I used to have to scan a couple of transponders on my old 6981 using incorrect frequencies.

You could try adding and subtracting 1, 2,or 3 to /from the correct frequency (eg 11124 - 11129 for c4hd).

See if any of the incorrect frequencies get you green bars.

You could also try scanning with something different for a test (dvblink / mediaportal etc)?
