Display Driver Error on Dell Latitude E7440
I have a dell e7440 running windows media center on win 7 64 bit. I am trying to use my hdhomerun prime to watch tv in my office and i am getting the following error.
display driver error
the video playback device does not support playback of protected content.
So far I have tried.
1) updated video and audio drivers
2) reinstalled play ready
I have this setup working on on 2 other computers so I know the hdhomerun prime is functioning fine. I am not sure why this laptop is giving me an issue. any help would be appreciated.
thanks

The laptop may have a display port connection for it's lcd screen. Playready does not support display port http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... =49&t=7957 read post #18. What you can try is setting up your display as DVI and see if it works. Post #20 has some good info as well http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2392252/en-us

Along the same lines as CW, Plug in an additional monitor to the HDMI port of the laptop, then Drag WMC to the other screen. This has worked for some.

thanks for the help....tested hdmi out of the e7440 laptop and that worked. I have a e series port replicator docking station with 2 monitors hooked up DVI but those don't seem to want to work. any ideas on that issue? at least with the hdmi working I have eliminated any issues with windows media center setup

Oh, I see now, the laptop has its own special port.

Check the cable and the monitors (where the cable plugs into the monitor). The dock does not support DVI-I even though it is possible to connect DVI-D to DVI-I.
I think it's got to be DVI-D all the way through to (and including) the monitors before it will work.
I seem to remember that you can get cables with "I" on one end and "D" on the other, (as well as other combinations) however a D to I (or other) combinations are not going to work.

I tried the docking station with another dell latitude I have a e6530 and that worked just fine with the monitor hooked to the docking station. I am assuming at this point that it will not work with the docking station or internal display and only with the hdmi out of the laptop itself which stinks but I can not think of another solution.

What were the results of identifying DVI-D throughout the path?cookem wrote:I tried the docking station with another dell latitude I have a e6530 and that worked just fine with the monitor hooked to the docking station.
