Did my Linksys DMA2100 die when i upgraded my router?

Admittedly I haven't had my bedroom tv on in a week, so I cant be 100% sure the events are related.

I installed a new router tonight and noticed my 360 extender was having problems connecting to my htpc. Re-did the extender set up process and it worked. So I went to my bedroom to see if the DMA2100 was having similar problems, and there was a blank screen. Tried unplugging it and tried the reset button - nothing but a flashing blue light.

Pretty coincidental. Maybe this thread will help?

Did you have your old router set up to block the Linksys update server? I know on our internet provider we have to block that or Linksys extenders just lock up booting.

not that did on purpose - now that you mention it I vaguely remember a problem a few years back where they went looking for an update and something happened. but I don't recall ever personally having an issue

im not getting anything - just a blank screen and a blinking blue led. is that the behavior youd expect it to do if it tried to open that server? am I bricked or is there possibly some hope?

I cant get the box to show anything. ive tried resetting it with the network cable unplugged and also with the modem unplugged just to keep it from phoning out of the house. nothing but blinking blue lights.

I would look up the hard reset procedure then. You have done about everything I would have suggested. It may be dead.

Do you still have the old router? You could try putting it back and see if that works.

I'm going to give that a whirl tonight. If it doesn't work I'll be deciding between replacing it with an Xbox or replacing my ATI DCT so I can use a spare PC.
