Yeah, it's kind of silly. The plural of the word "ball" does have use in conversations that are NOT related to male genetalia. Maybe you could remove that one from the list of offensive words?STC wrote:"curve beans"
Lol. The offense bot at work...

The brain is a powerful thing, when I first read the post I read it how it was intended. Had to do a double take once I saw chatter start up on it.

Okay, here's a tweak I have used to maintain vector adaptive deinterlacing:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{Your string here}\0000\UMD\DXVA]
In the registry browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video. There will probably be a number of folders beneath this key, all of which have a subkey called “0000”. However, there should only be one subkey “0000” which is expandable. This is the one you want. Browse to 0000\UMD\DXVA. Here you will see a lot of keys referencing the CCC default settings.
Export the DXVA branch to get a backup. If you screw up you can always import it back to fix everything.
Change these keys to these values:
DI_METHOD_DEF 5
DI_METHOD 35 00 00 00
Exit, reboot.
From now on the next time the ATI drivers throw a wobbly it will default interlacing to the value 5 which is vector adaptive. Essentially never changing again. Depending on your ATI CCC bug(s), you can also change the defaults for the other CCC settings that are defaulting too.
For me, I find the ATI GPU much more 'crisp' and more able to disguise the 29/59Hz problem than a Nvidia GPU.

FYI, I have the same card. The latest few drivers don't work properly on my system. The best driver is actually 12.8, I think, from last August. Others have issues with HDCP, HDMI audio and not working after sleep/wake. But if you leave your PC on 24x7, you probably won't have any issues with the latest drivers.christoph86 wrote:So I ordered this one because it now has a $20 mail in so for $9.99 can't go wrong giving it a shot. ^ I used to get green or black screen occasionally when flicking inputs on the TV back to Media Center (HDCP), but that too can be resolved.

Jeez is the old 'default settings' thing still going on STC? I had to do those style reg tweaks back in 2008 when I used ATI cards!

A little misleading since most full height cards have power adapters on the side of the card.Mike88 wrote:An x16 slot can only supply 75W for a full height card and 25W for a low profile card.
But the rest is correct. You absolutely can power a 6450 with almost any PSU on the market. You'd be fine with a 200w on the system you have. The recommendations on the boxes are usually hugely overblown.

So I've had this card in for two days now. Seems to be doing the job well thus far after optimizing some settings and tv settings. I have noticed the HDCP issue a couple times when I turn the TV on (in away mode) but it is barely flashed for enough time to see the message then it goes right to live tv so not really issue at this point.

Pretty common issue when you turn the TV on when it's run through HDMI. Sometimes HDCP kicks in quick enough not to see it, sometimes it takes a couple of seconds.christoph86 wrote:So I've had this card in for two days now. This problem goes away entirely if you use the older 12.8 driver.
