Can anyone confirm whether they fixed the 360 extenders not connecting that was there in the consumer preview?

I can confirm that the RTM builds on the Internet DOES work with Media Center and the Xbox 360 as a Media Center Extender.3rob3 wrote:Can anyone confirm whether they fixed the 360 extenders not connecting that was there in the consumer preview?
I did have an issue with a clean install of 8.1 Pro/Media Center and not being able to run the Cable Card Tool, but was able to install 8.0, upgrade video driver, install WMC, Ceton InfiniTV, configure tuners and then upgraded to 8.1.
still working great after a couple weeks.
MCE Backup: .Net framework 2.x and 3.x do not install on Windows 8.1 RTM so if you do a clean install (vs upgrade) and want to restore your guide and or scheduled recordings, make sure you do that before you install/upgrade to 8.1. there are hacks for getting the older .net framework runtimes to install, but I have chose to not do it.
one word of caution: after loosing video on my Xbox MCX after playing ANY video or TV file after 5 seconds and trying every permutation possible, I discovered that the Ceton My Media Center app was the culprit. After uninstalling the MMC Win8 beta I have not have any trouble playing any type of video on my Xbox 360.

Cool, thanks! Bummer about the backup tools though. I guess you can always do it the manual way.

There is no 'hack' needed to install Net 3.5. You simply install it from the 'Turn Windows Features On/Off' part in the 'Uninstall a Program' section:

I just tried again and I was able to complete the installation. It wasn't working last week or this weekend when I last tried or for the people on the Windows 8 MyDigitalLife forums.staknhalo wrote:There is no 'hack' needed to install Net 3.5.
