Ok, a 'fun' one that's just started happening to me. I've been using this setup for a month and while I've had problems I've managed to fix them but this is a new one and has me stumped.
Whenever I finish watching TV and switch the amplifier/tv off, when I switch it back on I end up with (what I gather is the infamous) black screen. No time limit is required, even if I turn the off and back on immediately, I have the problem.
If I then I hit the guide button, the guide is displayed but the preview box for the current channel shows 'No TV signal'. Changing the channel gets things going again. What I discovered last night though is that any recordings running when you switch back on fail.
What I've seen:
- Watching something
TV and amplifier off
Amplifier on. I hear audio for a few seconds, followed by the Windows 'lost/found hardware' chimes, then silence
TV on, black screen
I've tried removing the MHEG registry entries, updated BIOS/video drivers/tuner drivers and disabling the power-saving options for the PCI-e bus.
The only changes to the system before I noticed the problem starting, was me changing fan speeds in bios and the patch tuesday we've just had (no, I haven't backed out the patches yet)
Any suggestions? (my wife is about to murder me because "all I want to do is watch tv and I can't do that any more")
