hey Tony!

while we are on the subject, do you mind me asking what method you use for updating your entitlements? (cccam / ascam stuff...)

just curious , as I'm getting mine updated, buts a very manual method....

Hi,

I have cccam 2.1.4 on its own on my DB, and this is working keeping entitlements up to date, mine are currently due to run out 11th Aug 2011. However for the entitlements to be kept fresh, your db needs a sat feed - mine is permanently connected.

thanks Tony,

I'll try that out, i'm using:

CCcam_2.1.2 & newCS1.6

db connect to dish all the time but no updates.

i'n not even sure why one would use CCcam & newCS together instead of CCcam on its own?!?!?

who cares, as long as it works eh? i'll give 2.1.4 a go...

I think the only thing was, that I had to manually copy across the 2.1.4 executable at the time, as it wasn't in the list of software available (at the time), hopefully they've rectified this. I hear there is also a 2.2 version out, but the DB is one item, that I rarely touch.

Hopefully between us, we can sort any issues that may arise - I know I've probably seen most of them already ;-)

So I've uploaded the stuff that I used to my Skydrive:

https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=b9f43836 ... 47F%211214#

Feel free to ask questions on how to go about things!

It would make a great wiki article and I might go through the whole setup process myself sometime in order to document it.

It's been a long time since I've done it so there's bound to be small steps that I've completely forgotten about!

I think that the 2009 image is still the latest for the dm500 box, I think that other dm units do have newer builds available.

Once the dreambox is up and running you don't ever need to touch it really so I'd go with what works for others personally :)

I haven't seen Tony around for a while, he may be aware of any recent developments.
