After upgrading from Windows 7 Pro to 8 and experiencing a messed up registry using a registry cleanup program (a story in its self) I then used the Windows 8 Pro disk to try and repair Windows which deleted my applications and settings but left my files intact. Next I installed WMC but I lost the 'Stay-on-Top' ability, everything else seems to work. I have looked all over the application and can not find this option anywhere. You would think it would be located along this past; 'Tasks/Settings/General/Startup and Window Behavior' but the only options are;
1) Show a warning before displaying Web pages that are not designed for WMC.
2) Show taskbar notifications.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix the problem ??
How do I get WMC to stay on top in Windows 8?

The option was removed in Windows 8. It can be enabled with a registry edit.

Can someone explain the registry edit please, or point in the right direction?

This page explains how to edit the registry for Always On Top or you can download the registry adjustment.
