BBC iPlayer addin
Looks like the developer of the awesome BBC iPlayer addin has decided to pick the project up again and do a lot more work on it to include 4oD and others. No word on release date yet but just a heads up for UK users that another alternative for streaming in MCE may be on the way soon. http://www.pcmediacenter.com.au/forum/t ... -projects/

This is great news. I love the Beeb, and a lot of other British TV. Thankfully I have access to a VPN back in Blighty for a Company I used to work with. They have uber bandwidth, so streaming IPTV through them is no issue

Yeah that app was smooth, great UI! the best integrated iPlayer add-in for Media Center IMHO.

I don't know if Nevermiss.tv has vpn support yet but it's definitely a great way to get UK TV internet streaming in MC - there's no mouse click placements to worry about for a start!
I've used TunerfreeMCE in the past but found that nevermisstv just works so much better.

Shame that NeverMiss isn't a native MCE application, one of the reasons I like the iPlayer plugin is the extender support.
Unfortunately, the iPlayer app developer seems to have gone very quiet again, which is a shame.

NeverMiss TV is probably the best we've got, I've tried to persevere with TunerFree MCE.mrphil wrote:Shame that NeverMiss isn't a native MCE application, one of the reasons I like the iPlayer plugin is the extender support.

I did post on the Australian Media Center Forum which the developer started to see if he would be able to put the SeeSaw plug-in back, now they have been saved, but it's gone very quiet.
Maybe now Sky Player has gone Microsoft will commission an official BBC iPlayer plug-in for Media Center...

For anyone not in the UK I bumped into a promo from the Beeb that said it was sorting out some form of workable solution (without having to resort to a VPN or proxy) for iPlayer functionality. I presume this would be both advertising based and also have a limited selection of material, but even so this is great news me thinks.

Why don't the have a login system based on your TV licence? I'm the UK and I get blocked by the iPlayers DRM in WMV and now 4oD seems to think I'm not in the UK.

Actually having been stuck at home sick for the past couple of days, I have renewed respect for NMTV. It does actually work very well considering how poor a lot of the streaming services are. 4oD seems to be particularly bad, frequently failing after the first ad break and displaying a black screen with sound or just stopping completely.
