Windows Media Center MPC Plug-in for Blu-ray's
I've always wanted to play Blu-ray's from native Windows Media Center Movie Library so that they open with players like MPC-HC or MPC-BE, so I could get the best possible image quality by using madVR and LAVFilters.
I decided to make a plug-in for 7MC/8MC, it's written in C#, Visual Studio 2012. When you start Blu-ray playback from Movie Library, it launches MPC on fullscreen and playback starts, when playback ends, MPC closes and takes you back to Movie Library. Stop button closes MPC and takes you back to Media Center or if video ends, MPC closes.
MPC-HC & BE allows you to use the best possible video renderer, splitter and video/audio decoders (madVR and LAVFilters). madVR can for example automatically change your display refresh rate to 24p when Blu-ray playback starts.
Features
- Can launch Blu-ray, HD DVD*, DVD* and MKV* files from native WMC Movie Library.
- Can move WMC out of DirectX exclusive mode before MPC loads.
- Resumes playback where you left.
- Remote buttons are mapped as in WMC.
*If you wan't to launch HD DVD, DVD and MKV files from Movie Library, create a folder named "BDMV" alongside with VIDEO_TS folder or MKV file.
Information & Instructions
Settings.reg registry file changes some MPC settings that make it function better with WMC.
Commands.reg registry file adds some missing Media Center remote keys into MPC settings. Stop button will stop the video and also return to Media Center. MPC FF/REW is really bad so instead, those buttons do the skip function as in WMC when FF/REW is not available (5 seconds REW and 30 seconds FF, same as in WMC). DVD\My Movies key will take you into the DVD root menu. "*" changes into next subtitle and "#" into next audio. Note that if you accidently press the "Green Button", "Live TV", "Guide" or button, WMC activates in the background and some remote keys such as REW and FF commands won't go into MPC anymore. If that happens, hit "Stop Button" and restart video.
Extract MPC into "Program Files\Media Player Classic\" folder. 32-bit version is recommended, atleast until MadVR gets a 64-bit version. By default the plug-in searches MPC executable from these folders. I'll add a settings dialog later where you can set your MPC folder.
32-bit
Program Files\Media Player Classic\mpc-hc.exe
Program Files\Media Player Classic\mpc-be.exe
64-bit
Program Files (x86)\Media Player Classic\mpc-hc.exe
Program Files (x86)\Media Player Classic\mpc-be.exe
Program Files\Media Player Classic\mpc-hc64.exe
Program Files\Media Player Classic\mpc-be64.exe
Download
Setup.exe (1.0.2.3) - 2013/08/08 Download http://www.netikka.net/enclave/downloads.html
Settings.reg - 2013/08/08 Download http://www.netikka.net/enclave/downloads.html
Commands.reg - 2013/08/08 Download http://www.netikka.net/enclave/downloads.html
Changes in version 1.0.2.3
-Fixed bug where movies that had spaces in path name didn't load.
-Removed MPC and settings from the installer. Only the plug-in is installed now.
Known issues
- If you press for example Green button or Guide button, WMC activates on the background to take some remote commands over MPC.

Sounds great!!!
So the Physical Disc will be seen or only a ISO backup? What about a folder structure ripped from MakeMKV.....
I would love to put just my battlestar BD episodes and Star Trek TNG on my WHS in untouched format

As Media Center Movie Library shows Blu-ray's in Physical Disc Drive, Mounted Drives and Folders, you can play those all with this.
I'm uploading a video on SkyDrive. I'll post a link soon.

Couple of questions...
Is it the WMC_MPC_HC file, and if so, what can I play it with?
Have tried VLC and WIndows, neiter of them will play it? DId I get a bad download of the 100Mb file, or am I missing something simple here??

Sorry, I should have uploaded it to YouTube but I was too lazy and just dropped it into SkyDrive folder.saxnix wrote:Couple of questions...

That is very cool. Look forward to trying it out when you release it.
You might want to post it over at AVS forum if you haven't already.
This thread http://www.avsforum.com/t/1250607/windo ... se-support would be relevant.
And also this one http://www.avsforum.com/t/940972/guide- ... t_22610010

Sorry for the delay. I made a 64-bit test build. I'll make a 32-bit version If this installs and runs ok as I've only tested this on my dev PC.

I tried it on my 32bit install without any luck. Received an error saying that it wasn't compatible.
I am on holidays for the next few weeks and only have access to a 32 bit laptop this week, but next week I will have a new 64bit one as well. I can test then on it. In the mean time, if you do a 32 bit version, I am happy to test it.
