WMC freezes, but only during specific conditions

Whenever I watch recorded TV, WMC will freeze the computer for a few minutes and then starts working again (WAF suffers). However, if there is a program being recorded at the same time as I am trying to watch one that has been previously recorded, then WMC will not freeze, and WAF soars.

I have looked high and low to find a solution for this problem, and it seems like it is an interrupt storm. With that being said, I have tried to isolate any hardware that might be causing it, and all that's left is the MOBO, video card and cable card tuner. I can't test the video card as I don't have one laying around that is compatible with the TV, and testing the tuner and mobo are out of the question as this will require too much downtime.

I have looked at other methods for testing for an interrupt storm, but they would require the HTPC to be down for too long.
