Guide Data Issues - Comcast in Houston

#1

Post by mmatheny » Sun Oct 21, 2012 3:52 pm

My guide data has MANY errors on MANY channels, plus I cannot get data past about 7:00PM tonight! My machine reboots every day at 5:00am. Comcast Houston.

EDIT: It reboots because I have a scheduled job!!! Not just for the hell of it!!!

Same issue here, I have Comcast just west of Houston and I have no guide data. I tried re setting up my tv signal but no luck.

I get the error, Failed to retrieve EpgListings (error: HeadendId 28499415 is invalid.)

Same here - Zip 77005. Oh well, at least sounds like it isn't something on my hardware

Same problem here - zip 77007.

"Failed to retrieve EpgListings (Error: HeadendId 28499415 is invalid.)"

So there's no fix?

Try running through TV setup again. If the issue persists, go to https://connect.microsoft.com/site1145/Feedback and fill that out.

I tried running TV Setup again - no joy, so I did a system restore back to 10/13 (right before I installed some updates) and all is back now - 2 weeks of data! Wonder if some update hosed it up? I haven't reinstalled any updates since the restore.

Check to see if you have an option for Update PlayReady

Go to:

Tasks => Settings => TV => TV Signal => Update PlayReady

Select the option and run the update

If that doesn't work, setup your TV Signal again

Tasks => Settings => TV => TV Signal => Set Up TV Signal

No go for me, I did a system restore as well and it didn't bring anything back. (I probably didn't have enough data from then to today.) I'll try the Update PlayReady thing again, as well as setting up TV Signal again now that I system restored, but it didn't work the first time so I'm not too hopeful.

Edit: I have data again. I system restored to the 14th, around when mmatheny did. Then I went through the TV Signal process, both of them, and after a long while (seriously, each step took way longer than what I remembered. I started playing games on steam while it went,) it worked. So I'm set with data for a while.
