Sports always run over their scheduled recording

Is there a way to force media center to record extra footage for any/all sporting events recorded? I know I can do it globally for all shows, and I can do it for series recordings. It gets annoying when I set single instances of shows to record, and then I forget to add some additional time... Poof! You just missed the last 5 minutes of the big game!!!
