When I run TunerSalad as Administrator and click "Increase Tuner Limit", I get this error:
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. ~snipped~
Access to the registry key 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Settings\TVConfig' is denied.
If I click "Reset", I get a different unhandled exception:
Access to the path 'C:\TEMP\ts.xml' is denied
I tried disabling Norton 360, but I still get the error. Any thoughts on what might be wrong?
I'm running two HDHR3-CCs on my network, for a total of 6 tuners.
Thanks,
John

Hmm... I can't say I've ever seen someone get this error before. Technically you shouldn't need to run it as an administrator. Are you logged in under a limited user account on windows? Are you running TunerSalad locally?

Thanks for your quick reply. I'm running it under an Administrator account. This didn't work, so I right-clicked and selected "Run as administrator". Same result both ways.

Yes, I unzipped it to my desktop, and I'm running it locally.

It's Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1. The C:/ drive is a Crucial 128GB SSD, but that shouldn't make any difference.

OK - it WAS the SSD. On a whim, I moved TunerSalad.exe to my 1TB hard drive and ran it from there. No problems at all this time, and I confirmed that WMC is allowing all 6 tuners.
Thanks for creating this program, definitely worth $5!

FWIW my Windows install is on my C:/ drive, and I have my 1TB HDD set up as the R:/ drive.

Well, that might be the weirdest behavior I've ever heard of. I can think of no reason why it would work on an extra hard drive, but not on your primary. Glad you got it figured out.
