I only just got subtitle toggle on and off working today in 7MC LOL for AVI and MKV files, so happy now. And I think the only change in 8MC was that new button on the transport controls that we suspected was for subtitles. So I have no reason to upgrade HEHE !

EDIT...just reading that link you posted...I cannot believe what a complete and utter fook-up Windows 8 is. It deserves to fail like Vista!!

I just bought a VeraLite Z-Wave gateway, once I have my Home Automation system upgraded I will be seriously looking at XBMC, only thing that puts me off is it has no live TV. Or the Live TV add-ins are in beta and not as stable as MCE. I tinkered with XBMC recently a little bit on my laptop.

The other thing that is holding me to MCE at the moment is the excellent mControl MCE add-in for Home Automation control in the MCE UI.

Back to the media center studio question, it looks like someone has got it working in Windows 8. Probably the difference is that it only has to modify ehres.dll, whereas I have to modify Microsoft.MediaCenter.Shell.dll.
My Channel Logos XL: Get your Guide looking good! ~~~~ TunerSalad: Increase the 4-tuner limit in 7MC
