InfiniTV is not detected
I have a Win 7 computer and a Ceton infiniTV 4 PCIe. It will be recording a show and then stop in the middle. The show says it was stopped by another process. The only way I can get it back is a reboot. This can happen while I am watching a show I previously recorded or by itself with the screen turned off. The Ceton diagnostics say InfiniTV is not detected. The Ceton shows up in Device Manager under Network Adaptors.

I'm getting a message. "There was a problem starting powerprof.dll The specified module could not be found." Not sure if this is related to Media Center stopping the recording. I ran SFC command, and it found no problems. Tried to run DISM but was unable. Some suggestions to download "system update readiness tool" and run that.

I put in a new power supply and reseated all the connections. I cleaned the connections and the vents. It still gives me at random intervals InfiniTV is not found. Ceton diagnostics says the same thing. A reboot fixes it. I am wondering if I buy a replacement InfiniTV from ebay and install it and the cable card, will it require a reactivation and/or make it unable to record Xfinity TV shows? I don't want to lose that capability If I have to, I can live with the occasional and random inability to record or even watch cable.

Your cable card would have to move from the old tuner to the new tuner and then have to be re-validated/paired with the new tuner and possibly lineup re-provisioned by Xfinity. You would also have to re-do your WMC tuner set up to use the new tuner. Assuming you do all that properly you would then still be able to recored from cable. To help with your tuner disappearing problem you could at least set up a task to periodically reboot your system during a normally idle time (e.g. nightly).
