A place to talk about GPUs/Motherboards/CPUs/Cases/Remotes, etc.

Unable to program RCAP05BR for Magnavox DVR
Here’s what I’ve done
Programming Device:
1. Turn on a device and, if applicable, insert video media.
2. On the remote control, press a device key once; it will blink once.
3. Press and hold Setup until the selected mode key blinks twice, then release Setup.
4. Use the codes in the accompanying code list to locate the type of device and brand name and then enter the first four-digit code for your device. If performed correctly, the selected mode key will blink twice. If the selected mode key emits a long blink, the entry is invalid. Repeat the above steps and try entering the same code again.
Aim the remote control at the device and press Power once. The device should turn off. If it does not, will not turn off or on.
Here’s the codes I’ve tried a dozon times.
Magnavox............................................................................... .30675 30503, 30539

Instructions say to enter first 4 digit code but they provide a 5 digit code. I’ve programmed this DVR years ago w/out any issue. So I’m reduced to using the orginal remote which I don’t like the button layout. Thanks for any advise.

Did you try Edmund's solution?

You have to drop the first digit in the 5-digit codes to make them 0675, 0503, and 0539.
