Lost All Guide Data 9/1/2023

Everything has been working perfectly for months now, but today when I came home, there was no guide data at all in WMC. My SchedulesDirect account is current until January 2024. How can I start getting guide data again?

Update to the latest epg123. You're running an older version that did not correct for malformed json data from SD.

Oh thanks. But when did EPG123 stop informing us that there was a new version available? I was relying on that feature!

So I have downloaded and installed the latest version. First time I ran it all was well, but when I reopened the EPG123 GUI to make some adjustments to my TV stations I got a command box with a string of commands running through and then closing when it was finished. I cannot get the EPG123 GUI to appear.

Oh I understand. The GUI exe has been renamed. I was clicking on the epg123.exe. Having corrected my desktop shortcut all seems to be well.

Mine is still not working. I found yesterday that all my channels in WMC had disappeared somehow, so I rescanned and then installed the latest EPG123 version. Today at update time nothing came across. The log for today says:

Open the configuration GUI and click [Save & Execute] to reset the expected station count to 76 (81 originally expected minus 9 stations removed plus 4 new stations).

You need to go in to the EPG123 configuration GUI and verify that all the channels are correct and the ones you want to download/update have a check mark next to them, then you need to press the "Save" or "Save & Execute" button.

Note that from your log, it looks like garbage collection is set to run and I'm not sure you can "Save" or "Save & Execute" until that is completed, so monitor the log until that is done before doing the above steps.

Schedules Direct support looked at my EPG123 log and found that I am not getting data because my EPG123 lineup has more stations than SD has data for. I'm wondering why EPG123 doesn't just import what data are available from SD rather than abort the whole update because there are "extra" stations in the lineup. I have asked for a list of the stations in my area that SD has program listings for so that I can delete from EPG123 the ones that are causing the problem. If anyone has a simpler solution, I'd appreciate knowing about it. Thanks.

True, your lineup no longer contains 81 stations, it now has 76 stations. Look at the log file and you see what has been removed and what has been added since you last saved your configuration file. All you need to do is open the configuration file and click save to "reset" the count.

This protection is in place for a reason. If something goes wrong at SD/Gracenote and your lineup all of a sudden only has 1 station available for download, then as soon as you import that file with only 1 station in it you will lose ALL guide listings for all the other stations.

NOTE: This is most likely due to the updated lineups from SD no longer include the analog stations for OTA... they are what disappeared in the lineup. If you hadn't selected the analog stations for download to begin with, you would have been fine.

I think the SD data are being imported now, but they still don't show up in WMC. I can't figure out what else could be wrong. Could you look at the log and see if anything pops out?
