'Find' is not recognized as an internal or external command??

So, I tried installing WMC V8.8.5 on my computer, followed the guide to a T, but then when I ran InstallerBLUE, (the one I want), it said 'find is not recognized as an internal or external command, etc. Being new to computers, I have no idea how to fix this! Help!

There is an error in the batch that has been noted on the forums here to search along with the fix.

You can alternatively install 8.9.0 from my website. It is equivalent to 8.8.5 (and is blue).

I tried that, and it said it was for 64 bit systems only, even though I checked and my computer IS a 64 bit system...

What OS version? Not sure why the msi wouldn't be able to check such a simple thing.

Also, the 8.9.0 said I needed to download and install Microsoft DVD or whatever and I downloaded it, but it won't install...It just says "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft DVD App installation for MicrosoftWindowsDVDPlayer_2019.6.13291.0_neutral_-_ etc", then it says gathering required information, then it closes and does nothing. What do I do about this?

Is it 8.8.5 or 8.9.0 telling you your OS is not 64-bit?

Try 8.9.0 again. The DVD Player app may have completed ok, in which case it will then install WMC.

Well, I know there is a registry that can stop the DVD player installing that 8.8.5 will set prior to trying to install it. I didn't do that with 8.9.0 because I tried installing it on a lot of Win10 versions without issue. That is why I asked what version you had in case it is "special" version that will limit what can be installed.

With 8.8.5, you can try the DVD Player msi installer that was included in the zip file. It should be the exact same file 8.9.0 downloads though.

The fact that the DVD Player app won't install, and 8.8.5 thinks it can't install, everything is pointing to something is up with your OS.

So need some info on the OS. How did you get it, where did you get it, have you run any programs the remove components, anything....

Well, that's ok. Just tell us where you got the computer from, did Win10 come with it or did you install it? Stuff like that should answer a few questions.

So not a new computer if it came with 1706. Where did it come from? The OS is 5 years old.

Just to make sure, you are in the US?
