WMC Guide wrong for one channel

#1

Post by WMCLives » Thu Dec 30, 2021 2:07 pm

I'm using OTA for 11550. Most channels in the guide are correct. Channel 7.3 is ThisTV but the guide shows it as Laff. Clicking on the guide opens viewer for ThisTV. EPG123 Client Guide Tool also shows the channel as ThisTV. My cable channel for ThisTV is 108, but it also shows the guide info for Laff. Is there a way to edit the WMC database or somehow correct?

Is the only thing wrong with 7.3/108 is the station logo? If so, you can change that using the configuration GUI. https://garyan2.github.io/logos.html

EPG123 cannot detect when a service changes logos, so when this happens (particularly with OTA), some manual intervention is required.

No, the logo and guide info are wrong. Logo and guide is for Laff but the 2 channels, OTA and cable box, are for ThisTV

If I am understanding correctly, then it appears 7.3/108 are mapped to the wrong service. If you open the client, on the left side for 7.3, does the Service Name column show WABCDT3 or something else?

Everything looks good there. I just downloaded WABCDT3 and everything looks good there as well; both logo and guide listing is correct for ThisTV. I'm not sure what you have going on there... seems impossible from my vantage point.

Is there anything in your log file that could identify a problem?

7.3 shows Laff logo and ThisTV guide info, viewer is ThisTV
31.5 shows Laff logo and Laff guide info, viewer is Laff
33.2 shows Laff logo and Laff guide info, viewer is Laff
Cable 108 shows Laff logo and ThisTV guide info, viewer is ThisTV

So I guess that 7.3 and cable 108 logo should be changed to ThisTV.

Sounds like it. Refer to post #2 above to update the logo.

I changed the 7.3 logo to ThisTV and the cable 108 logo automatically changed to ThisTV. Must have been linked.

Next thing is to combine channels, ie., 7.1 into cable box 7 and set tuner priority. Don't remember how but I guess I'll poke around WMC and try to figure it out.

Thanks for your help.

You can do that in the client as well. Select both 7.1 and 7 in the client (left side), right-click and select 'Merge Channels'.

You make it so easy. 182,000 employees of Microsoft, and just one of you makes Media Center easy to use. THANKS!

You can say that, but I appreciate the ehome team of having the foresight to build into their code ways that I can do what I do. There may be some things I wish they had done, and some that just don't seem to work as expected, but for the most part their crystal ball of what the future could look like was pretty good.

I guess to "10ft interface" and IR remote control has it's limitations. You can have a team of programmers in the back room but without a good UI and support from management, the effort is bound to slowly wither. Also, the TGB community is tech savvy compared to the general user, so we need more techie UI, so thanks again.

I sometimes wonder if any of those former eHome team members hang out here on this forum. I would assume they couldn't really help with anything so it would probably be frustrating to not be able to offer answers to questions.
