EPG123 Bug Reports

I'm 1000% sure that this has nothing to do with EPG123 but I just want to warn Silicondust Prime users (and there are a lot here) that when I updated 2 of my 3 Primes today to the very latest firmware (20210210) I lost all of my channels except for the Emergency Channel (EAS). My last Prime I did not update and all the 500+ channels are still there. My 2 Connects weren't harmed either. Nothing is written about it on the Silicondust forum yet. Maybe it is just me. Be cautious if you do update.

This info would probably best if on a new thread... or both. That's pretty serious especially since SiliconDust doesn't allow you to downgrade the firmware.

Don't want to take the Bugs thread off topic, but please create a thread for this in the HDHomeRun tuners section. Has it been resolved? Did you post over in the SiliconDust forum for help? They are usually pretty responsive. (I have two Primes and fortunately, long ago froze my firmware when everything was working well, IIABDFI)

I agree I was wrong in placing that warning here (but I meant well) and this will be the last post about it here from me. If more comes of it I will post over on the Green Button's HDHomeRun tuners section. As it stands now I have both a posting on the SiliconDust forum as well as a ticket filed. No response from either as of yet. Since I'm the only one writing about it in the forum I'm starting to think it just might be my bad luck again that it happens to me and no one else.

No.

Tried going back all the way to 1.5.1.0 and still get the out of memory error during installation.
Must be something specific to this one machine. But have no idea what it would be. Whatever it is takes a while after a reboot before becoming a problem.

Yes. And the epg123 update installs have worked fine until just very recently.

Hi Gary, I found a new issue today. I did hard drive reformat, Windows 7 install, WMC setup, attempted EPG123 install. I clicked "no" on the guide terms of service and clicked "yes" for Playready terms of service. Playready failed to download from MSFT due to update issue on my computer. EPG123 did not respond well in the background while this happened. I don't remember all the popups but it basically crashed and I had to abort the install with 0 tuners ready. Perhaps you can incorporate the Playready step in your online directions for people doing a fresh WMC install and have EPG123 look for the Playready download and be prepared if it fails? You could recreate this by doing a fresh install and then unplug computer from internet when you attempt Playready update.

I'll see if I can recreate it, but I've never seen a problem before with PlayReady. May not be related to PlayReady but with something else. Was this during a [Client Setup] and it was on Step 2 waiting for WMC to close?

Seem to be having an issue with one machine.

main executable keeps crashing during phase 2. Both Sceduled (for a few days now, xml is stale) and manual.

Nothing in the event viewer.

Unpaired Bluetooth ear piece and turned off Bluetooth. Since then have not had the out of memory issue with updates. Had turned it on for a virtual meeting a few weeks ago.

So fingers crossed, this is probably resolved. Though don't know why Bluetooth would cause this.

I've been getting out of memory error on notebook machine when installing the last few updates. Task manager shows less than 50% usage. Reboot solves it.

Installs without error on the HTPC machine.

Both machines are Win 8.1 with 8GB RAM.

However, there is still an error in the status of xml import.

After updating to new ep123 and renewing Schedule Direct subscription, updates are hanging/crashing on "Downloading 2/10 Build Schedules - Stage 1..." I have rebooted and cleared cache. Existing mxf file is 2 weeks old. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

If your mxf file is 2 weeks old, then you have a different problem. Update to 1.6.2.5, clear the cache (configuration GUI, [Clear Cache] button), and try again.

Do you usually have a DNS error? Reference the WebException at 10:55:44 AM.

Installed latest update yesterday but have been getting red alters for this week.

Here is last night's log: I have had the occasional time schedule error on CSPAN but this is new. Happening on two Win7 machines servers and of course all clients. Do I need to clear something?

Just since last night's download, I'm also getting all the "Failed to parse the schedule Md5 return for stationId" for multiple channels. Oddly, History, USA, and REELZ are among the errors I received as well. Is this a Schedules Direct issue? Also Win7, epg123 version 1.6.2.2.

Yes, the Md5 errors are caused by an issue with Schedules Direct (which appears to actually be a problem with their provider, Gracenote).
