Red X

#1

Post by jpendergraph » Tue Oct 13, 2020 7:06 pm

Hi,
Recently I noticed that when I open WMC that the EPG123 icon in the lower right has a red x and the EPG icon in the system tray is red and says that there was an error during the last update. I have attached my log file below, I appreciate any help I can get in figuring out the problem.

Thanks,
John

Open the configuration GUI and Exclude the custom lineup in the lineup tab. Then [Save & Execute].

I was able to duplicate this once, and then after I tried a second time everything worked fine. Looks like I need to take a closer look.

Do you use the custom lineup?

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure how the custom lineup got added, I excluded it and EPG123 seems to get further. But now there is a yellow exclamation mark on the icon in WMC and the icon in the system tray is yellow also. Plus when I pull up the guide in WMC the listings only go to 10/20. I attached the new log file. Thanks again for the help.

The warning is due to there being a discontinuity on the NBATV channel. You have 2 shows in the database between 8PM and 9PM your time on that channel. The warning is just to tell you the guide might not be totally correct on 1 or more channels.

Your guide should go out to around 10/30... you may just need to give it time to parse through and index of the 17 days of guide data you just downloaded.

Thanks so much. I am so happy that this program is available. I have been using it for a few years and I think this is the first problem that I have ran into. Thank you for all of your work on it. I didn't even know I had an NBA channel, I guess I need to clean some things up.

Sorry to say, but the red icon and x are back after last nights update. Can you take a look at the latest log file and see if you can tell what's wrong now. It seems that this started happening around the time I upgraded.

Still the same issue with NBATV.

Code: Select all

[10/14/2020 3:01:36 AM] [WARNG] Time discontinuity detected. Service 32281 (NBATV) SH012857740000 (entry 1) ends at 2020-10-14 01:00:00Z, EP010925722422 (entry 2) starts at 2020-10-14 00:00:00Z. No further discontinuities on NBATV will be reported for the date 2020-10-14.
If you run another update right now, it will turn green since the issue has been corrected by Gracenote/Schedules Direct.

A red logo means something went wrong, a yellow logo means you're okay but maybe not perfect.

Oops, you do have an error.

Code: Select all

[10/14/2020 3:25:31 AM] [ERROR] Failed to perform the automatch of lineup stations to tuner channels task.
Unfortunately not a lot of information that indicates why the automatch failed. I'll look at my code to see what some possibilities are.

I don't have anything in my code to actually report out the exception on this (I will next release that's for sure). Question: Does WMC have a guide currently? Or does it pop up with a message that had recovered from an error or something like that.

I notice in the log that there are quite a few messages related to the state of your tuner channels in the database... In the client, how many Merged Channel(s) does the bottom status bar say you have? How many lineups?

Okay, as far as problems since updating to 1.4.x.x, the failures to update was due to having the Custom lineup included. This is now a known problem, but I haven't had time to find out what causes it. It appears that the problem is "fixed" once you click [Save] or [Save & Execute]. Again, need more research.

The error you got on this last run, you also had with 1.3.9.10 every day from 9/2/2020 to 10/3/2020. I find it interesting that while you were having the custom lineup problem with 1.4.x.x, you were not having the automatch problem. That's a head scratcher.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Yes WMC does currently have a guide. I have 3 lineups, one for standard cable, one for digital cable and one for OTA antenna. In the client it shows 10031 Merged channels w/10031 shown, 5 lineups, 361 services with 72 shown. Everything seems to be working now, but I have attached the latest log file if you want to take a look at it.

Thanks,
John

You can get rid of 1 of those cable lineups. Everything in the standard cable is repeated in the digital cable as far as I can tell, so whichever one matches your provider/subscription is the one you want to keep. In the configuration GUI, you can EXCLUDE the lineup from download or click the [Lineups] button to remove from there. Whichever one you remove/exclude, you can open the client, select the lineup to remove on the right-side pulldown, and click the red 'X' to the right of the pulldown.

And yeah, everything is looking good now.
