I use "MCE Reset Toolbox" to add entry points to WMC for launching websites with Firefox.
The following image is of the settings I used in "MCE Reset Toolbox" for one of the entry points.
Everything worked fine until yesterday when I updated to the latest Firefox v80. Now whenever WMC relaunches after closing Firefox I get the "MCE 7 RESET TOOLBOX Access is denied" message in WMC.
I checked the Firefox release notes for v80, and it mentions that a number of new permission policies have been implemented. Maybe that's what's causing the issue.

Restoring Firefox back to v79 fixes the issue.
Does anyone know what caused the issue or have any ideas how to fix it?

You might try Waterfox Classic. Mozilla has removed many benefits Firefox has had in recent years. Waterfox has been around as a 64-bit build of Firefox many years now. It retains many since-removed features, including the ability to use Classic Theme Restorer, and older plugins.

Thanks JediDwight, much appreciated. I've been trying to get the Brave browser to work too but I get the same "Access is Denied" message when WMC is relaunched. But for some reason, if I first launch WMC from within MCE Reset Toolbox using the WMC icon on the ribbon, then the "Access is Denied" message doesn't show.

I can confirm the same issue with on a brand new install using Win 8.1/WMC and Firefox 80. Interestingly, Firefox 80 works fine on Windows 7 WMC with entry point setup using Media Center Studio.

I just also did a new install with Win 7 SP1 and Firefox 80 works fine with entry points made with Reset Tool Box. So it seems to be a combination of Reset Toolbox, Win 8.x or higher, and Firefox 80.Shadow Lord wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 10:47 pm I can confirm the same issue with on a brand new install using Win 8.1/WMC and Firefox 80. So I recently had to upgrade the default IE 8 in Win7 SP1 to IE 11. After doing the upgrade I am seeing the same issue with Firefox on Win 7 SP1. So the culprit seems to be a combination of Firefox and any of the following KBs: 2729094, 2731771, 2786081, 2834140, 2888049 and/or IE 11.
