Series Images and Movie PosterArt

All,

Since the database rebuilds by Schedules Direct this weekend, you may notice that you no longer have some images in your guide. This is due to Amazon changed the recommended naming scheme of the URL to their AWS servers to allow for regionalization. This made the old cached links not work any more.

There are 2 things to do:
1) nothing - for newish versions of epg123, it will automatically refresh all series images every month. So after a month, you should be completely up to date.

2) clear your cache - to immediately get images, for versions prior to v1.3.6 you can just delete the guideImages.xml file and the next update run will refresh all images. For v1.3.6.x, you will need to [Clear Cache] to force a rebuild.

Just found out that this impacts station logos as well, but in a different way. The new link is fine, but the response is a 0-byte length image. I let SD know, but in the meantime, if you are not getting logos, this is probably why.

Hi there

Since the other weekend I lost all my movie poster art

I've cleared the cache and deleted guideImages.xml, waited for its daily update and still no movie posters.

Im running version 1.2.6 (yes i know its an old version, but its worked spot on for me for the last couple of years without a hiccup and for that I thank you)

Any ideas, or is it a case of re-record to get the poster art back

Thanks

Do you mean all the movie poster art in the guide or in the "movie library"? If in the movie library, that is out of my hands... that will be based on the artwork of when it was recorded.

If your movie images disappeared at the same time as the server issues last weekend, then I suspect that the database only stores the image link and when the links all changed, it broke.

Hi there

Thanks for quick reply

It's the poster art in the library that's all gone adrift. Sounding like it's a case of re-record ink then to get back the poster art
That's a bit of a shame, but hey what can you do.

Does anyone know if Media Center Master will work ok alongside epg123 so I can get movie cover art back into the movie library (recorded from TV)

thanks

No reason why it wouldn't. EPG123 just handles the guide... doesn't touch the movie library or past recordings.
