This is not really a reply, but request for help. I have been using EPG123 since early JAN with apparently no problems. My subscription at Schedules Direct is good until JAN 2021. Last week I started to get "No Data Available" on several channels. I have tried reloading the schedule, manually loading the XML, updating to latest version of EPG123, and several other suggestions from the internet. Now I have even more channels showing "nda".

I don't know what else to try. Any help would be appreciated.

You are probably not using EPG123 data due to not installing it according to the instructions (like many others in this thread).

Open the client tool and look at the this thread and answer the questions in the second post (third one about client tool will tell if you are using EPG123 data or the old Rovi data).

If this is the case, then it is probably possible to get it to use EPG123 data by using "match by number" or something similar, but it may not be "fully" installed. For one thing the Search -> categories may still have old Rovi categories which is a complete mess. Also, your database will be cluttered with old Rovi junk so the system will be slower.

It is best to go through the install process correctly to have a "clean" install, but before you do that, answer those questions first so it is easier to determine what the status of your system is.

EPG123 shows my selected channels for lineup1 local OTA 45424
did a save, execute & exit
EPG123 Client no lineups
Transfer tool shows my scheduled programs
BLUE tray icon w/
downloading
10/10 Clean and save cache file ...

Error occurred running version 1.4.10.10. I have since loaded 1.5.0.0 but that should not have an impact.

How do I recover (create a lineup)? Everything looks okay except there is no lineup available in EPG123 Client and of course the Guide Do I have to reinstall the program? Setup want to start with Step 1 which I remember as being painful.

Looks like the garbage collection at 3:52am crashed the database but didn't do a recovery. Open the client, on the left side is it blank or does it have your OTA channels?

Both sides are blank.
Could it be as simple as running WMC > setup > add/scan/search for new channels? (I don't remember what the command was)
I was/am afraid of destroying the EPG123 data but I remembered last night that I have manually added a couple of channels that the initial scan didn't pick up and a couple of rescans when the stations changed RF.

Thanks for the rapid response.

Yes, you will need to perform TV Setup again in WMC (and manually add the VHF channels). Once the tuners are setup, then EPG123 will import the MXF file.

Success after a few false starts.
From WMC I ran TV setup.
Got an error Download failure
The new TV setup data could not be downloaded.
Exiting data will be used ...

Everything seemed to proceed normally from that point.

EPG123 Client had data on both panels but no Guide. wWhen I attempted to exit message to subscribe left panel to right panel. No Guide icon in WMC and when I pressed the Guide button on my remote got a message there was no Guide and to run setup.Endless cycle. Finally figured out need to "Rebuild WMC Database".
Was I supposed to run Client Setup instead of TV setup in WMC?
Did I miss a few steps since it didn't automatically import the MXF file ?

New problem: I can view the guide, record a program but when I attempt to watch either a recording or video passthru I just get a grey screen of the appropriate size with the sound which comes over toslink. Strange! I would say the video in my HTPC went bad but the Guide displays OK.

Thanks

I upgraded to 1.5.1.0 on November 22. The mxf file has not been updated since November 21. As there is no epg123.exe file in my installation folder, I changed the filename in Task Scheduler to epg123Client.exe. Obviously, that does not accept the argument "-update". Regardless, my guide listings run out tomorrow.

HELP!!

If there is no epg123.exe file in your program files folder, then you either installed v1.5.1.0 as a client only installation, or your AV software has removed/quarantined it.

epg123.exe and epg123Client.exe are two separate programs. You cannot rename one and it magically becomes the other.

epg123.exe - Primary purpose is to connect to Schedules Direct and download the guide listings, create a MXF file.
epg123Client.exe - Primary purpose is to take the MXF file created by epg123.exe and load it in to WMC.

As Gary indicated, if you don't have the epg123.exe file in your install folder, then something prevented it from being created, either anti-virus software (which falsely suspects the file to contain a virus), or you chose "client only" when you installed EPG123. Unless you are doing something fancy, most installations of EPG123 will need both the server (epg123.exe) and the client (epg123Client.exe).
