Took the plunge. Installing EPG123 was easy but it fails on updating the guide :(

Need a lot more detail that that on what is failing. Did you look for errors in your trace.log file? You also should be asking EPG123 questions in the EPG123 subforum. You may want to ask there and be sure to use code tags when posting relevant portions of your log file.

Your log shows this ERROR:
[1/28/2020 12:05:06 PM] [ERROR] There are no devices/tuners configured in the database store. Perform WMC TV Setup prior to importing guide lisitngs. Aborting Import.
What kind of tuner(s) are you trying to use? Did you go through the tuner setup steps in WMC as shown in the instructions?

It appears when you did a clean start you did not perform a TV Setup (Step 2), unless it typically only takes you 36 seconds to do so. And I'm not sure, but when you did perform the TV Setup, it looks like you did not deny the Program Guide Terms of Service (also Step 2).

Your update on 1/30 was not successful with an error on the import from loadmxf.exe. Can't tell why.
Your update today was successful, but with all the "Skipped matching..." entries, I can only assume that MS/Rovi guide information is currently assigned to the channels.

Open the client and click the Match by: [# Number] button. That will force the guide listings in the EPG123 lineup to your merged channels.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.

The list of channels on the left side is the merged channels. If you look at the 'Subscribed Lineups' column of that list, do all the channels have a lineup name that starts with 'EPG123'? If not, that is MS/Rovi.

Did you click the Match by: [# Number] button? What happened?

Everything looks perfect there, and it looks like it updated last night (1/31/2020 11:59:59 PM).

Are you good? Guide populated and everything? Is your status logo on the main screen green?

Don't know if the problem I'm having is related to the problem others are dealing with in this thread.

Since around the beginning of January, the free EPG123 Client was happily updating Windows Media Center until two days ago.

Now after running the EPG123 client, WMC channel guide isn't updating. All channels in the WMC guide are showing "No Data Available" and getting window on lower right warning from WMC "Guide listings will be out of date in fewer than 3 days. Select Download to get the latest Guide listings"

Under Scheduled Task (upper left), EPG123 client is showing "Ready. The task has not yet run. Exit: 0x00000001"

Was it only available free for a limited time - like 30 day? Will gladly pay an annual fee for the service, but I don't see anywhere in the client for the upgrade, if there is such a thing.

Don't know where to start. Please help.

Sounds to me like you were never using EPG123 and were still using the Microsoft data (which finally ran out on 1/30/2020).

Why do you think that "EPG123 Client was happily updating Windows Media Center"? Did you create a Schedules Direct account? You would only be getting updates for 7 days from when you activated that account unless you payed. In this case data would have run out around the 25th of this month. If it did not run out until around the 30th then you were still using Microsoft/Rovi data.

According to this, the task has never run... unless you just created it again.

Please post an image of your client. That can tell us a lot on how you are setup.

At the end of December, as promised, MS had stopped updating WMC guide listings. I had lost all guide listings on New Year's Eve and left me in a situation similar to what I now have with the same message I'm now getting from WMC about needing to download guide listings. Found EPG123 client in early January. Ran it and WMC guide listings were updated. I thought EPG123 was doing the work. Maybe not. Perhaps MS resumed guide listings for another month and the coincidence made it look to me as if EPG123 was doing the guide listings, not MS.

Anyway. The EPG123 client screenshot is posted below. How do I get EPG123 to do the channel listings? I appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

Yah, definitely not using EPG123 as your guide provider. Could you make a new backup using the [Backup] button and send me both the .zip file created and your trace.log file (C:\ProgramData\GaRyan2\epg123\trace.log)? ClearQAM is a bit of a pain to get setup, but seeing how it currently is should help in recommending how you should proceed. Please send to support@garyan2.net.

Thanks.

My time frame and problem is very similar to rosho. My last run has a code of 0xFFFFFFFF though.
