Errors after rescan in WMC

#1

Post by TryThisAgain » Fri Dec 06, 2019 10:52 am

I scanned for channels in WMC to fix a local station change and add a new sub-channel. Everything looks good in WMC, except the new sub-channel shows no guide data. Now two things have happened on the EPG123 side:

1) In EPG123 Configuration, the new subchannel is highlighted in pink. Every other channel is normal. What does the highlighting mean, and how do I fix it?

2) Attempts to download any guide information are now failing, with the log information shown below. Maybe it's unrelated to the rescan, but it's new and started immediately after the rescan. What should I do? --Thank you for all of your work and help!

1) The pink highlight is showing that the channel is "new" since you last saved your configuration. To make it not highlighted, just select whether you want to download the new channel or not and click the [Save] button.

2) It looks like SD is having a problem. I saw this error last night looking at someone else's lineup, and looking at my log I see the same thing now for my lineup. You can submit a ticket with SD and hopefully it will be corrected quickly (which it usually is).

SD just fixed the issue. The corrective action was "kicked a server" . The use AWS servers and every once in awhile one of them acts up and needs a bit of a reset.

I just checked and all good here.

I'm glad to learn how to deal with the pink highlight. It was glaring at me, and I knew I had caused it. I suppose I'm also glad to learn I didn't cause the download error.

I accepted the new sub-channel in EPG123 as you suggested and re-ran the guide download task. All appears to be good now, with guide data showing for the new sub-channel in WMC and an error-free log in EPG123.

Thank you very much for your help!

You didn't cause it... you just didn't get rid of the highlight. That feature was a user suggestion and is a quick way to identify any new stations that have been added to your lineup from Schedules Direct. Basically it is a station that you have not had available before so you have not yet decided whether to download any guide listings for it or not. The highlighting has no other purpose of any affect on operation.
